Cap. Enrico DE CRISTOFARO (Italy)

 

Born in LIBIA in the 1936  started to work on big fishing  trawlers  at  the  age  of  14 years rising the rank of Deck Officer at 19 years. Still very young he bacame Captain on  Atlantic  Trawlers  fishing  in  any part of the World.  The radio was his important duty when he hadn’t a Radio Officer on board and he was in touch everyday with  the mains Italian Coast Radio Stations  such  as  Rome  Radio (IAR) and Genova Radio (ICB). He was  at  the command of  F/T  “CARLO DI FAZIO”  for  18  years  working mainly  in  the   Atlantic  (South Africa,  Canada,  North America  and  West Africa). Retired   after   35  years  at sea he  follows  all  the  developments  of  marine  new technologies thinking that a “Good Sextant is better than ten GPS”
