The Seefunkkamadschaft Bremen (SFK) is a. . .
. . . Association of former Radio Officers of the German Merchant Marine. The Association during the Era of morse code at sea served the promotion of radio security and the protection of human life at sea by continuous information of the radio officers. After a fundamental change of  sea radio communications, we now have the task of archiving all that has been written and recorded by maritime radio, or can still be recorded.

In addition, the Association is taking care of Morse code as “intangible cultural heritage”  as former foundation of our profession with the scope of worldwide applications for recognizing the Code as cultural heritage. Here we work together with various international organizations.

Within the SFK, there are many former radio officers who have made their former professional activity an hobby.

As radio amateurs, they are again on the “waves” around the world and continue to enjoy various telegraphic competitions. Our Organization has an own callsign – DLØSFK – on the air during special Events which remember the past of maritime radio communications.

We will take part, as usual, at the next MRD so please  “Watch out for QSO and special QSL”.
